अपक्षय व अपरदन

1. अनाच्छादन (Denudation)

"अनाच्छादन" का अर्थ है – पृथ्वी की सतह को ढकने वाली सभी ऊँचाईयों और असमानताओं को धीरे-धीरे हटाना।

यह एक सामूहिक प्रक्रिया (Composite Process) है जिसमें अपक्षय (Weathering), अपरदन (Erosion), निक्षेपण (Deposition) और जमाव (Mass Wasting) सब सम्मिलित होते हैं।

अनाच्छादन का परिणाम होता है – भूमि का समतलीकरण, ढाल का क्षरण और नए स्थलरूपों का निर्माण।


Denudation refers to the overall process of wearing away of the Earth’s surface and the removal of rocks and soil by various natural agents.

It is a collective term that includes weathering, erosion, transportation, mass wasting, and deposition.

The ultimate result of denudation is the gradual leveling of landforms and reduction of surface irregularities.

2. अपक्षय (Weathering)

"अपक्षय" का अर्थ है – चट्टानों का टूटना या विघटन उनकी जगह पर ही (in-situ)।

इसमें चट्टानों को तोड़ा या बदला जाता है परंतु उनका स्थानांतरण (Transportation) नहीं होता।

अपक्षय के प्रकार:

1. भौतिक अपक्षय (Physical Weathering) – तापमान, हिमनद, पवन, जल आदि के कारण।

2. रासायनिक अपक्षय (Chemical Weathering) – जल, ऑक्सीजन, CO₂ आदि से रासायनिक क्रिया द्वारा।

3. जैविक अपक्षय (Biological Weathering) – पेड़-पौधे, जीव-जंतु, जीवाणु आदि के कारण।


Weathering means the disintegration or decomposition of rocks in situ (without movement).

It weakens rocks but does not transport the material.

Types of Weathering:

1. Physical Weathering – by temperature changes, frost action, wind, water, etc.

2. Chemical Weathering – by chemical reactions with water, oxygen, CO₂, etc.

3. Biological Weathering – by plants, animals, and microorganisms.

3. अपरदन (Erosion)

"अपरदन" का अर्थ है – चट्टानों या मिट्टी का तोड़कर हटाना और उसका स्थानांतरण करना।

इसे करने वाले प्रमुख कारक हैं – नदी (River), हिमनद (Glacier), पवन (Wind), समुद्री तरंगें (Sea Waves) आदि।

अपरदन से घाटियाँ, कंदराएँ, जलोढ़ मैदान, डेल्टा आदि स्थलरूप बनते हैं।


Erosion is the process of wearing away, removal, and transportation of rock and soil materials from one place to another.

Main agents: Rivers, Glaciers, Wind, Sea Waves.

Landforms of erosion include valleys, canyons, flood plains, deltas, etc.
